You’re ready to make a change.
I know you’re a little nervous, maybe even a LOT nervous – but that’s good; it means you want this to work.
Whether you’ve been to therapy before or this is your first go at it, I can offer you the chance to do things differently and make lasting positive changes.
Every session comes with complementary acceptance and compassion, not to mention the occasional breakthrough moments where we will most likely share some tears.
I’m here to help.
I started my private practice because I have always been curious about people and the journeys that led them to where they are now.
My style is casual. I want to create a space for you that feels comfortable and safe to share your experiences.
This doesn’t mean you won’t be challenged to have hard conversations and sit with the uncomfortable feelings. Change occurs when we are uncomfortable – and I’m here for it!
This is what I do.
I draw from an Emotion-Focused and Person-Centered approach and provide a space where you won’t feel judged for being your authentic self.
Painful memories are messy, but avoiding those unpleasant feelings usually ends up causing more harm than good. I will help you understand the connection between past hurts and the current emotions you’re experiencing.
One of the beautiful things about this profession is that clients allow me to share their pain and healing with them. This has given me the chance to learn what compassion and empathy really looks like.
A Little More About Cecelia
For nearly a decade, I’ve had the opportunity to work with families, couples, and individuals ranging in age from 7 to 75 years old. More than half that time was spent in an inpatient/outpatient setting, stabilizing crisis-level clients battling suicidal ideation, co-occurring disorders, and trauma.
But I’m not just a therapist! I’m also a mom of three insanely cool kids! When I’m not in session with my lovely clients, you can usually find me either de-stressing at the gym or at a cheer competition, baseball game, or drama production.
And, as a bonus, you will most likely get to meet my sidekick Ursula (pictured here), who is usually catching some z’s during my sessions.
